Increase your Palmetto Health Tax-Sheltered Annuity Savings Plan Contributions. If you are an eligible team member, you can earn a dollar-for-dollar match of your contributions from Palmetto Health, up to at least 3.5percent of your biweekly pay. That’s like getting “free” money! You can save up to $18,000 per year (including the Palmetto Health contribution).
Consider Contributing to a Health Savings Account. Among millennials, 66 percent have $1,000 or less on hand to pay out-of-pocket expenses, according to a 2015 Aflac report. You can make sure you maximize your savings by contributing pretax to a Health Savings Account or Health Care Flexible Spending Account.
Consider Enrolling in Voluntary Medical Insurance. Palmetto Health offers various voluntary medical insurance policies through Aflac that are designed to protect your finances in case of serious illness. You pay the premium for these policies, which is why they are called voluntary, although Palmetto Health makes it easy by enabling payroll deductions for your costs.
